THE GOOD NEWS OVER THE NEWS: A SHORT ADDRESS
The news in the past few weeks have been dominated by the global pandemic caused by the frenetic spread of the virus called COVID-19. Governments of nations are scampering to arrest this plague as it deals a paralysing blow to their economies. Thousands of lives have been lost and many more thousands are feared to follow suit. The rich and the poor are both not safe. The whole world is frantic, as some wonder if Armageddon is at hand. These are some of the current facts in the news.
It is not my job to comment on events making the news. If anything I cast news that is not scripted by human hands but that which is powered by God’s voice. I am however compelled by necessity and responsibility to those who hear us to make this short address. This is because we know that such a pandemic is steered by levers that are not stationed in this visible realm.
No matter how dismal the news is it cannot override and/or match the potency and supremacy of the good news of the gospel of the kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ by which all mankind is liberated. The good news is, Apollyon has been sent back to the abyss and his plague with him. His shadow has been decimated by the light of the glory of the Lord. Let the saints of God arise in prayer and execute this.
This is the time to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Let’s intensify intercession for our nations as the Lord completes His work.
Let’s cooperate with the authorities as they do their part to help bring this all to an end. This includes using whatever tools our health systems provide for us as precautionary measures – this takes nothing from our faith, it only makes us responsible citizens. Let’s use this impromptu break to gain ascendancy in the spirit.
We have overcome. Jesus is Lord forever!
